Mechanical Engineering on Railways

More work on the railways

We have just completed a major refurbishment project at a training facility at Huddersfield Railway Station.

We undertook a full mechanical and electrical refurbishment of the facility which included installing new lighting, heating, cooling and ventilation systems, along with new power and CCTV services.

The facility is located in a Grade I listed building which provided us with special constraints in our designs and the eight-week installation.

The railway station is a Grade I listed building which meant we had to consider this in the way we designed the relevant services and the materials that we used.

The fact we were working in a busy railway station also posed some challenges in terms of accessing and working in the training facility too.

The work was on behalf of First Transpennine Express which manages Huddersfield Railway Station.

This project follows a recent contract that we at SDH Building Services undertook to refurbish the heating, plumbing, electrical and fire alarm systems at Hull Paragon Railway Station in the centre of Kingston upon Hull, East Yorkshire.

So, we are pleased to have completed a further project within the railway sector – a sector we believe we have a lot to offer either as a sub contractor or on a ‘direct-to-the-client’ basis’ so soon after the one in Kingston Upon Hull.

SDH Building Services Limited provides a wide range of building services in commercial buildings such as supermarkets, offices, hotels, restaurants, factories, schools and care homes – nationwide.

Our services include commercial heating, plumbing, electrical and air conditioning both on a sub-contract or a direct-to-the-client basis.
